Chief Minister N. Rangasamy flags off the expedition · 27 July 2026
A five-day sea adventure expedition for National Cadet Corps (NCC) students from Puducherry to Chennai was flagged off today by Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy, marking the commencement of an expedition aimed at fostering courage, discipline and the spirit of adventure among young cadets.
A total of 21 NCC students, travelling in three boats, embarked on the expedition from Puducherry and proceeded towards Chennai by sea. The expedition provides the cadets an opportunity to experience the challenges of the maritime environment while developing confidence and resilience.
As part of the expedition, the cadets are participating in various adventure activities designed to strengthen essential qualities such as courage, discipline, teamwork and leadership. The programme seeks to equip young cadets with practical experience and the ability to face challenges with determination and a strong sense of responsibility.
The participating NCC students expressed their enthusiasm and pride in being part of the expedition. They shared that the experience would provide valuable lessons and memories that would contribute to their personal growth and future endeavours.
The event was attended by Legislative Assembly Speaker A. Anbalagan, MLA C. Ayyappan (alias Mottaiyappan), DDG NCC TN, P & AN Commodore Nambiath Sudeep, Puducherry NCC Group Commander Ashish Tiwari, and several NCC officers.
